Hi,
I really feel with you: juggling many things at the same time. I like what I read in your first task: "pk1 I understand how ICT can be used to support and enhance what students learn, how they learn, and when and where their learning takes place". I can easily relate to this because I see it on a daily basis in our campus where students need to have the opportunity to study on and off campus and they need a flexible progression through the courses. To be able to increase access, flexible delivery can be the solution. Flexible delivery that provides equity of space: “expanding the limited number of places available”, equity in relation to the learners’ circumstances: “Dealing with cultural, religious and political consideration”, equity in time: “solving time problems”, equity of access in place: “overcoming physical distance” (The Commonwealth of Learning, 2000, p.7), and equity in learning sequence and program structure. This flexible learning can be achieved by different means mainly the use of IT, and by doing this, students will be provided with the freedom of choice over time, place and pace of learning. “Every citizen should be able to access the education and training that they need, at any time in their lives, and when and where they need it” (Bates, p.4) References: An Introduction to Open and Distance Learning. Hi Fiona,Sounds like your visit to Emmanual was really rewarding. I have been asked to be the facilitator for the ICT Pedagogical Licence for Oakey/Dalby district. Seems like I am the only candidate. A little scary! I don't really think I have the skills however I probably have more than most. I don't know all the details yet so that is in the future. Identify with the ghosting issues. Our teacher/librarian/IT teacher has taken leave for 2 wks. When you think things are bad with the network it is truly amazing just how much worse they can get. Some weeks I think just how much fun it would be working at a school that was really into technology. How did you go with your assignments? All good? Jan Do you find this valuable? |
